Richard Anthony

Educator Richard Anthony will present three x 1-day intensive skin penetration and infection control workshops for EHPA members in February and March. Richard has over 25 years of experience in body art, skin penetration, and related infection control and has successfully run training for EHPA members previously.

Following a webinar he presented in August last year, we have had many requests for in-depth training on this ever-evolving topic and related risks. In this intensive training course, Richard will cover the following:

BODY ART INDUSTRY PERSPECTIVE (Also touching on the beauty industry)

  • Where the industry and legislation are heading
  • Not-so-good/incorrect practices
  • Photos of emerging methods
  • Latest trends, with services in the body art industry
  • Equipment of the trade
  • Trips and traps
  • What to look for
  • Questions to ask operators
  • Autoclaving, sterilisation
  • Bad practice

CONTINUATION OF BODY ART PERSPECTIVE

Focus on the integration and maintenance of infection control and skin penetration technical skills that demonstrate the following:

  • Use of correct steriliser operating procedures
  • Loading
  • Validation
  • Calibration
  • Packaging of items
  • Documentation requirements
  • Disposing of waste and sharps
  • Identification of potential cross-contamination risks
  • Protecting self and client from infection risks
  • Choosing and using appropriate cleaning, disinfection and steriliSing procedures for instruments and equipment
  • Attachments and work surfaces
  • Monitoring

This one-day training session will be held in three different locations to enable attendance by members from a range of regions. The sessions will run from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm and will be limited to either 15 or 20 members on each day.
